HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Can you believe it... Christmas is almost here?!?! I surely can not! This year has just flown by way too fast. Anyway... life is good. We went up to visit my family end of November and celebrated an early Christmas and Jolie got to make her first Canadian snowman, and of course we had a snowball fight! Here is Jolie, me & Jim... our Funky Snowman, and some of Jolie's gifts she got from her Aunts... Miss you all!!! Can't wait to visit again next year in 2009!

Until then... I will try better to keep my blog updated! Love from us across the miles and miles...

xoxox... LOVED all my gifts, the High School Musical gifts are all wonderful, and the clothes too, here are just a few of the gifts my mom got pics of me opening and playing with...

KINDERGARTENER!

Stop the presses... How did summer fly by so fast?!? Last I posted it was Father's Day... Since then life has been amazing, wonderful, fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our summer! Visiting family & friends, loving the summer wonderful days. Now September is upon us, and big news for us... as we now have a Kindergartener!
Say it isn't so?!? How did time fly by so fast?!?

Here is Jolie trying to act all grown up, and be a sassy kindergartner...

Waiting on our deck to see the school bus drive by...

Happy Father's Day!

Today I dragged Jim & Jolie to the beach. My goal: to try and capture a special Father's Day picture for my Project 365... Day 59.

(My Project 365 blog can be found here: www.joannefrontiero365.blogspot.com)

As we walked along the sand, we spotted a bunch of Fuchsia flowers scattered on the beach.

Well Jolie squealed, and gathered a few of the finest. Then proudly displayed them overhead (1)... Only to gasp in horror down at the sand, at a few fallen petals (1). So once a few came off, she began to shake (2) and smile at the falling pinkness (her favorite color). Then Dad tries to figure it out (3) as all of the petals are now flying and he thinks she'll be sad with her barren stems (3).
However, stems in hand (4)... Jolie is still all smiles. Pink petals surround them... and I can't stop smiling at what a special moment I captured, of my amazing husband, my beautiful daughter... together so happy on Father's Day:

SUMMER TIME FUN

Today was a beautiful sunny wonderful summery happy kinda day. We had a play date with a friend from Jolie's class, Jasmine (Jazzy) & her mom Mandee. Jolie & Jazzy had a blast running, playing, discovering. Us moms had a hard time keeping up, but we never stopped smiling at our girls having so much fun...

EARTH DAY - SHOULD be EVERYDAY!

Yesterday was EARTH DAY. I believe it may actually be EARTH WEEK?!
...In my opinion, it should be Earth Day EVERYDAY!

So you know me, on my photo kick, and now Earth Day crusade...... I am inspired by Earth Day, and what I saw at the beach yesterday. Anyway, I emailed the following to my local online newspaper. It may not get published/posted - but I feel quite strongly about this, and figured I'd share with you too. A blurb from my email:

As you probably know, yesterday was Earth Day. I took my daughter to the beach, Good Harbor beach to be exact. We went with good intentions of doing our share to pick up some beach trash, well the first thing was saw was this (see attached). I was appalled!

Why are there no trash bins at the entrances to this beach? During the summer season people are reminded (and know) to take their trash with them. But off season, no one seems to care? So, one person litters, and then others follow? It was a sad site to see, especially with the sign in the background, with it stating clearly: ”KEEP OUR HOME PORT CLEAN”.

I also am attaching a cropped picture of my daughter Jolie who is 5 years old. I want her to grow up in a perfect world. It is in our hands (get it, the earth ball she’s holding, in her hands) :o) It is up to us to make this earth a better place... for our children, and so on...

...it's in our hands now...

BETTY & MARY OH MY!

Another day here in "Alaska" yesterday! It was so cool, we got to see them filming a driving scene, and along with Ryan & Sandra, were no other then Betty White & Mary Steenburgen! TRES COOL!!!

You must be wondering if I got their photo?! Of course (not the best though).

Here are a couple of classic pics that I got of Betty White and Mary Steenburgen:

Another day in Alaska!

Jolie & I did a drive through Rockport after work today, only to arrive in Alaska. Of course we had to stop, and of course I had my camera!!!

Tranformation of Rockport to Alaska... imported Totem Poles and all:

Take 101 - they kept on going over it, made me realize just how long it must take to film a movie, if this one short scene took forever:

Poor Sandra, not used to Alaskan summers (or should I say Rockport in the 47 degree chilly spring afternoon):

Scrumptious Ryan Reynolds:

Practicing the scene yet again. Note that Ryan must recognize me from Shaws from yesterday ;o)
