EARTH DAY - SHOULD be EVERYDAY!

Yesterday was EARTH DAY. I believe it may actually be EARTH WEEK?!
...In my opinion, it should be Earth Day EVERYDAY!

So you know me, on my photo kick, and now Earth Day crusade...... I am inspired by Earth Day, and what I saw at the beach yesterday. Anyway, I emailed the following to my local online newspaper. It may not get published/posted - but I feel quite strongly about this, and figured I'd share with you too. A blurb from my email:

As you probably know, yesterday was Earth Day. I took my daughter to the beach, Good Harbor beach to be exact. We went with good intentions of doing our share to pick up some beach trash, well the first thing was saw was this (see attached). I was appalled!

Why are there no trash bins at the entrances to this beach? During the summer season people are reminded (and know) to take their trash with them. But off season, no one seems to care? So, one person litters, and then others follow? It was a sad site to see, especially with the sign in the background, with it stating clearly: ”KEEP OUR HOME PORT CLEAN”.

I also am attaching a cropped picture of my daughter Jolie who is 5 years old. I want her to grow up in a perfect world. It is in our hands (get it, the earth ball she’s holding, in her hands) :o) It is up to us to make this earth a better place... for our children, and so on...

...it's in our hands now...

BETTY & MARY OH MY!

Another day here in "Alaska" yesterday! It was so cool, we got to see them filming a driving scene, and along with Ryan & Sandra, were no other then Betty White & Mary Steenburgen! TRES COOL!!!

You must be wondering if I got their photo?! Of course (not the best though).

Here are a couple of classic pics that I got of Betty White and Mary Steenburgen:

Another day in Alaska!

Jolie & I did a drive through Rockport after work today, only to arrive in Alaska. Of course we had to stop, and of course I had my camera!!!

Tranformation of Rockport to Alaska... imported Totem Poles and all:

Take 101 - they kept on going over it, made me realize just how long it must take to film a movie, if this one short scene took forever:

Poor Sandra, not used to Alaskan summers (or should I say Rockport in the 47 degree chilly spring afternoon):

Scrumptious Ryan Reynolds:

Practicing the scene yet again. Note that Ryan must recognize me from Shaws from yesterday ;o)

HANGIN WITH SCARLETT & RYAN IN THE PRODUCE AISLE...

So I had an average day in Gloucester... NOT!!!! I talked with Scarlett Johansson & Ryan Reynolds at Shaws (our local super market)!!!

And... it wasn't accidental at all. NOPE, I am a stalker, yes I admit it!!!!

Jim's partner called Jim and said, they just left Shaws, and the star couple walked in hand and hand from an escorted vehicle, and they said hello, small talk. Well... Jolie & I were about to go visit some friends, so we take a detour, and run into the market for something, anything... and hopefully see some movie stars in my produce aisle!

LOL! YES I am a freak, don't know why I get so crazy over average people who act on the big screen, but it just excites me! And he is cute and hip and she's a pretty big star... well actually not... she's short and tiny! okay, back to the produce aisle. Jolie & I walk thru a few aisles, and I realize we do need a few things, so I grab one of those hand held baskets, and that is when I spot them, in the salad dressing section. PERFECT, I am out of salad dressing!

So Jolie & I browse through the dressings, and I can not concentrate on what to get, as Scarlett (the wee 5'4" or so tiny frame of a girl walks by, all dressed up hip, and with a hoop nose ring too!) I smile (like a fool, instantly forget her name - duh!).... then he starts walking behind her... tall and dressed so metro sexy hot looking, great jeans, nice shoes, trenchy style coat, and this way cool hat)... so there I am, for a moment gawking, then smile, and turn back to salad dressing!

UM HELLO! I wanted to say something clever, but was at a freaking loss! WHY? not sure.

So as they almost leave the aisle, I turn, and see him hold up something showing her, and she nods no (like she didn't want it), and then I stammer out something, anything.... "Hi... I hope you guys are enjoying the area!" DUH!!! like that was so stupid! She said "uh... yeah" in a slight accent, and I guess surprised at my question. I immediately think, they must think this girl is random, so then I spit out more randomness, and say "You're Ryan?" ... he says "Yeah" (in his cute sexy voice), and she is looking annoyed a bit.... well then I spit out something like: "I think the movie that you are filming is cool, as I'm Canadian too, and lived in Vancouver for awhile, and married my husband and moved to Boston, kinda like the movie you are doing" ...and he said "that's cool, nice to meet you".... I just smiled, and thought fool!!! I wanted to say something more, like really, I'm normal, and not this odd rambling spitting out incoherent sentences kinda fool. I wanted to tell them about cool local restaurants or beaches, and such. I wanted to find out where they were staying, to ask for an autograph, to see if I could find out how to meet Sandra Bullock, to see if they needed extras, to see if they wanted to come over for a drink.... anyway... none of that convo. went on, we left it at that, and I smiled, they smiled, and we parted and went our separate ways! LOL!!!

Of course, I was all frazzled after that, thinking ugh, and I wanted to say more, but left it at that. It was too funny all the girls who worked there were oohing and aghing and hoping to be the ones to ring him out, and hoping he'd charge it, so they'd get their autograph.

Agh. the life of us small town folk, who don't see movie stars often.... pretty cool moment. Wish it were cooler. I just keep thinking, imagine if he wanted to find out more about my story and immigration issues, to learn his character better? or what if I had my camera, and asked to take a pic, and then capture a great one, and the celebrity mags want my pics for big bucks, and then my name gets out there and my photography skyrockets?!?! yup, that is the life of Joanne.... a dreamer.... LOL!!!

OKAY, you all know I am a nut, not sure if anyone even read this far.... but for me, this was a fun experience.... from a star stalker, who doesn't even really care for these stars... but just more of the cool movie star brush.... anywayo..... just needed to share my story, just in case anyone else is a star freak like me, and would have done the same thing! LOL!

I emailed this to a few of you about my walk to Alaska the other day. For those who didn't get that email, here are some pics from the transformed Rockport, which I dragged Jim to the other day, and brought my camera to, as I was hoping for star sitings then too. They turned Rockport into Alaska, pretty cool what Hollywood can do...

T U D E

It all started good... But then the TUDE came on!

Definition of TUDE = Attitude

Joanne's Definition of TUDE = one cranky girl, who is done with her mother's obsession of taking pictures of her.
Case in point:

MOM!

Gotta LOVE those priceless Kodak digital moments that make you so proud being a parent! :)
